1 NGO Docs

Integrations

WordPress plugin

Host donate pages, campaigns, events, and stories on an existing WordPress site without 1 NGO DNS.

WordPress is a third public hosting path, alongside Domain and Main Website URL. Campaigns stay in 1 NGO. The plugin is the public front. No 1 NGO DNS records are required.

Install

  1. Open Integrations → WordPress and download the plugin zip.
  2. Upload it in WP Admin → Plugins. Open Settings → 1 NGO.
  3. Paste Organization ID, the API URL, and a read-only token from the same 1 NGO page, then Save.
  4. Set parent slugs and click Add donation page (and campaigns / events / stories pages).
  5. When WordPress shows Connected, return to 1 NGO and click Confirm connection.
  6. In each editor, click Publish on WordPress. Domain and Main Website URL each have their own publish action.

Full pages vs shortcodes

  • Add page (and virtual singles such as /campaigns/your-slug) take over the WordPress content area with the full 1 NGO layout. The theme header and footer stay.
  • Shortcodes, the Gutenberg block, and the Elementor widget stay compact widgets you can drop into any existing page.

Privacy and terms

Connecting the plugin sends your WordPress site URL and public slug map to 1 NGO so share links and checkout return to your site. The token is read-only (it cannot change your dashboard). Card checkout still uses Paystack.

A page is only visible on WordPress after Publish on WordPress. Publishing on Domain or Main Website URL does not automatically publish on WordPress.
